The key challenge was creating a minimalist design that also felt engaging and modern, appealing to the arts industry. With no initial direction beyond simplicity, I needed to strike the right balance between clean aesthetics and a visually captivating experience to showcase Walshy’s music effectively.
The goal was to create a clean, minimalist design with a modern touch that effectively engages visitors and directs them to key content such as press articles, music, and gig tickets. The design needed to appeal to the arts industry while remaining simple and visually striking.
I proposed a design with a full-page video background for all pages, a transparent navbar, and minimal text for a sleek, modern look. Clear links were placed to guide users toward essential sections of the site. To ensure a seamless experience across devices, Walshy provided two different background videos—one optimized for desktop and another for mobile—which were integrated into the final design.
